Visit to Hesperia

In March the girls and I got to visit my parents! Isabel had some time off of school so I thought I would brave a trip without Shad. I tried this cheaper airline that flew directly from here to Las Vegas. Then we had to drive 3 more hours to Hesperia. The plane trip was crazy. The flight left here at 7:45pm. I thought for sure Clara would sleep since it was her bedtime. I think that was my first mistake. She did not sleep a wink! Of course the plane was full so I had to keep her on my lap. She was totally restless. We did have an angel sitting on our row with us though, her name was Jeanie. I think Clara spent more time with her than with me. Jeanie saved me! I couldn't have done it without her.

We stayed the night in Vegas since we got there so late. Of course my directions to the hotel took us up The Strip, at midnight no less. Isabel got educated on that little ride. She had quite a few questions. The drive to Hesperia wasn't too bad. We were so excited when we finally got there.

It was so great to see my parents! And they loved seeing their granddaughters! We were able to do a lot of fun things while we were there. We played at the park, went to the beach, and Grandpa took Isabel fishing. The weather forecast called for cool temperatures so we didn't even pack any shorts, or our swimsuits.

Grandpa didn't have to work on Tuesday so we headed out to Newport Beach. It was a beautiful day! Temperatures were in the upper 70s and there was no wind. Isabel had a great time playing in the water and sand. Clara did not know what to think about the initially. When I first put her in the sand she just stared and it and wouldn't move. She tried to keep her feet where they were and bend over if she needed something. Eventually she got used to it and it was hard to keep her contained. She loved the ocean too. Once I took her out to get her feet wet it was hard to keep her out of the water. She kept trying to get further in. Clara also had fun chasing all of the birds. There was never a dull moment at the beach with these two girls!

Isabel's only request for Grandpa this trip was for him to take her fishing. Last time we came he took the grandkids fishing. Isabel tried so hard to be patient while she was fishing. It's just so hard to sit there for so long. Unfortunately, she didn't catch a fish. I felt so bad for her. We saw a lot of fish jumping around, but they just weren't biting. Oh well.

The flight home was much better. Clara actually slept most of the time! She must have been really exhausted. I'm glad she was better on the way home because we didn't have Jeanie this time, we had a middle aged man who didn't even say a word to us.

We were so glad that we got to visit Grandma Nettie and Grandpa Moult. As always it was hard to say goodbye. We made some good memories though!
