Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas season this year! We all had fun decorating the house. It's one of our favorite things to do during the holiday season. Isabel loves to put the star on the top of the tree. She has to make sure it’s on there “just right”.

At the beginning of the month we made a trip down to Utah for Grandpa Tom’s funeral. While we were there went to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square with Grandpa Lon. It was a perfect night for seeing the lights.

Isabel picked out matching Christmas dresses for her and Clara. They looked absolutely adorable in them.

We stayed home for Christmas this year. Grandma Arvi and Mieg braved the 10 hour drive to come spend Christmas with us. It was great to be able to share this special day with them. We had a great time celebrating Clara’s first Christmas. Isabel had a lot of fun opening her gifts. First she emptied her stocking and neatly placed each item out on the ottoman. She is always so organized. Clara’s favorite thing was the Cheerios snack container in her stocking. She carried it around most of the morning. Isabel was in charge of passing out gifts and took on her role very seriously. Clara seemed to just have fun playing with the wrapping paper after it was off of the gifts. After a while she would help rip the paper off of her gifts with some coaxing.

What a wonderful time of the year to celebrate our Savior’s birth and reflect upon all he has given to us.
